All because of you.Organization and Development
Hold or assist with voter registration drives throughout the year. Act as liaison to MSU, LCC, youth organizations, and high schools to organize young Democrats or progressives.
Recruit precinct delegates and captains across the county; host training for these individuals so that they are informed community leaders who are encouraged to facilitate opportunities for our elected leaders and candidates to connect with their neighborhood/community.
Resolutions and Bylaws
Responsible for considering any resolutions or amendments to the bylaws and reporting to the Expanded County Committee. Resolutions are an important way to share ICDP values by bringing an issue to our membership. Some of the current bylaws are antiquated and need to be reviewed for updates.

ICDP Executive Board - I want to be considered
The Executive Board has two major functions. One to elected the Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons and the second function is to approve the budget. The term is for 2 years starting on January 1, 2023.
The Executive Board is comprised from two groups:1) the Democratic nominees in the most recent primary election for all county offices, the state legislature, and Congress,
2) Members elected at the Fall Convention from different jurisdictions across the County
The elected members of the Executive Committee shall be apportioned in proportion to the vote for Joselyn Benson as Secretary of State among the following jurisdictions:
- First Ward of the City of Lansing
- Second Ward of the City of Lansing
- Third Ward of the City of Lansing
- Fourth Ward of the City of Lansing
- the City of East Lansing
- Lansing Township
- Meridian Township
- Delhi Township
- Remainder of the County
At the Fall Convention, each jurisdiction will have a caucus and hold an election to select the representatives for their jurisdiction on the Board.
In order to hold party office or vote at a Convention, a person must be a member of the MDP for at least thirty (30) days prior. Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan office may join the MDP or renew the same day as the Convention.
If you want to be considered for the Executive Board, please fill out this form below. It is not required, but it is really helpful for those in attendance to know who in their jurisdiction wants to be part of the Executive Board.
For more questions, please review the Ingham County Democratic Party Bylaws.

Neighbor2Neighbor - doing your Part, in Your Neighborhood, Contacting Democrats
You can help get the word out in your neighborhood to inform Democrats about voting options and our great democratic slate especially judges and other races that they don't see in the headlines.
This is what we are asking you to do two things to help mobilize the Democratic vote:
1) Find up to 2 people in your neighborhood to help you. We will provide you a list of Democrats in your precinct to see who you already know or maybe want to contact.
2) Canvass (Door Knocking) to identified Democratic homes twice this year before the November Election. We will train you, and give you material.
If you want more information or have any questions, please contact Brian Jackson ICDP Organizing Chairperson either by email or calling 517-214-7513.

War on Democracy in Michigan
“The war on democracy is escalating,”
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson
Unfortunately, that war is being waged from within, by conservatives in the Republican Party. Throughout the nation, they’ve opened the door to Jim Crow while slamming it shut on heroes like John Lewis. Even in our home state, the Republican-led Senate fights our own voters, introducing legislation designed to prevent Michigan’s citizens from exercising their hard-fought right to vote. They even want to restrict your freedom to vote by absentee ballot.
Sign this petition and tell Senate Republican Leader Shirkey to STOP stealing YOUR right to vote!

Michigan Republicans need to stop playing games with COVID-19 Funding!
Games are fun. But playing games with the lives of Michiganders is no laughing matter.
Michigan Republicans are dead set against helping Governor Whitmer address COVID-19, save lives and open our economy. They have created a roller-coaster of chaos, fighting science and sound medical practices. And they’re doing this just to score cheap political points.
Now, they’ve passed a bill tying the power to spend $300 million in your federal COVID funds by requiring state health officials to play their pointless Republican’s political games.
Tell Mike Shirkey and the Republicans in the Michigan Legislature to STOP holding up rebuilding Michigan and risking lives.
Please sign this petition NOW.

Poll Challengers
A key component of our effort on Election Day is placing trained voter protection staff (Poll Challenger) at key polling places to protect the right of voters to cast a ballot for the candidate of their choice.
If you are interested in learning more, and would like to be invited to a training session, please sign using this form.
Training sessions will be held virtually via Zoom in October. Invites will be emailed to interested volunteers soon. To attend training, you must be able to work on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at a precinct. You do not have to work the entire day to volunteer.
If you have questions in the meantime, please contact Mary Kay Scullion at [email protected].
