Comment from the ChairpersonWe had a great crowd on Saturday with over 40 people in Mason coming together to get more organized to win in 2026. There was a lot of energy, and we already have a second meeting scheduled for Monday, November 17, to organize some events and outreach before the end of the year. Details are below.
We want to encourage more communities in Ingham County to come together to come up with a few things to work on locally to connect with more people. So if you are interested in doing that in your community, please let me know. Also, with the SNAP federal cuts and just a crappy economy for so many, please donate to the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The food bank serves as a vital support system, backing a wide network of food pantries across the region, and your donation dollar stretches significantly further than a direct donation of food. Here is the LINK- https://greaterlansingfoodbank.org/give We will be accepting donations to the Greater Lansing Food Bank at our November meeting. Brian P Jackson

Must RSVP by clicking here to get the Zoom link.
An hour dedicated to political party leaders. We’ll discuss how we can and can’t work with 501(c)(3) and 501 (c) (4) organizations.
From 1995 to 2013, Brewer was the chair of the Democratic Party of Michigan. Mark specializes in "union-side labor, election and campaign finance law," representing candidates, political parties, and 501(c)(3) and (4) organizations, among many others.
An hour dedicated to political party leaders. We’ll talk about how we can and can't work with 501(c)(3)'s and (4)'s.
We'll talk about how our work is best woven among the work of our non-profit allies. We'll learn how we can position ourselves to best leverage the efforts of our allies.
A huge thanks to Joanne Galloway for putting this program together.

6:00 pm - 9:00 pm ET
Lansing Location provided upon registration
Register at https://secure.ngpvan.com/jLBm6pejDUaz3fGU0MxFmw2
Join us in Lansing for an evening of connection with organizers, partners, and Local Progress members and prospective members from across Mid-Michigan, from Bay City to Grand Rapids.
This meetup is a space to get to know each other, build relationships across the region, and learn more about how Local Progress is growing in Mid-Michigan. Whether you're already involved in local work or just starting to explore how to make an impact in your community, this is a chance to meet others who share your values and vision.
We'll spend time:
- Meeting others doing work across the region
- Sharing what brings us to this movement and to each other
- Learning more about Local Progress and how to get involved
As we build our Mid-Michigan chapter, we want to make space for new connections, shared purpose, and a deeper sense of community.
For more details about Local Progress, visit https://localprogress.org/
We look forward to seeing you there!
Our team will also follow up with you on logistics and other details. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please reach out to Izzy, our Michigan Coordinator at [email protected].
