Comment from the Chairperson

We had a great crowd on Saturday with over 40 people in Mason coming together to get more organized to win in 2026.

There was a lot of energy, and we already have a second meeting scheduled for Monday, November 17, to organize some events and outreach before the end of the year. Details are below.

We want to encourage more communities in Ingham County to come together to come up with a few things to work on locally to connect with more people. So if you are interested in doing that in your community, please let me know.

Also, with the SNAP federal cuts and just a crappy economy for so many, please donate to the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The food bank serves as a vital support system, backing a wide network of food pantries across the region, and your donation dollar stretches significantly further than a direct donation of food.  Here is the LINK- https://greaterlansingfoodbank.org/give

We will be accepting donations to the Greater Lansing Food Bank at our November meeting.

Let's Talk About Tom Barrett's Votes Panel Discussion
Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 pm

RSVP* by clicking here

*The address of the event in Lansing will be released to attendees 24 hours prior*

Come hear five ordinary American citizens who can share how Tom Barrett's votes and lack of leadership are creating hardship and raising the cost of living for families across the 7th District.

This diverse panel of citizens provides insight into how decisions made in D.C. impact us here at home, yet Tom continues to be a no-show in Washington and the district to hear about it.

The panel is moderated by Brian Kelly, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 704 Vice President, and includes:

 Andrew Lennox, Veterans Administration
Christopher Pumford, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
 Mark Zacharda, Farmer
Peggy Vaughn-Payne, Director of Northwest Initiatives

Hosted by the 7th District Democratic Committee

The 7th District comprises all or part of the following counties: Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Livingston, Shiawassee, Oakland, and Genesee.

Dos and Don'ts of Political Parties Working With 501(c)(3)s and (4)s presented by Mark Brewer

Wednesday, Nov 12, 2025, 7 pm - 8 pm via Zoom

Must RSVP by clicking here to get the Zoom link.

An hour dedicated to political party leaders. We’ll discuss how we can and can’t work with 501(c)(3) and 501 (c) (4) organizations.

From 1995 to 2013, Brewer was the chair of the Democratic Party of Michigan. Mark specializes in "union-side labor, election and campaign finance law," representing candidates, political parties, and 501(c)(3) and (4) organizations, among many others.

An hour dedicated to political party leaders. We’ll talk about how we can and can't work with 501(c)(3)'s and (4)'s.

We'll talk about how our work is best woven among the work of our non-profit allies. We'll learn how we can position ourselves to best leverage the efforts of our allies.

A huge thanks to Joanne Galloway for putting this program together.
